Egyptian and French naval forces on Tuesday (May 21st) conducted a maritime training exercise in the Mediterranean Sea, the Egyptian Armed Forces said in a statement.
The drill saw the participation of French frigate Surcouf and units from the Egyptian navy, Egypt's Ahram Online reported.
The training comes within the framework of the Egyptian Armed Forces' efforts to enhance military co-operation with its allies.
The training included maritime activities such as maintaining sailing formations, countering hostile targets and repelling non-traditional threats, as well as conducting inspections of vessels.
