Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri have discussed electricity projects, infrastructure and energy co-operation, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported Tuesday (February 26th).
The two met on the sidelines of the first Arab League-EU Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
The meeting tackled ways to enhance co-operation between the two countries and benefit from Egyptian expertise in a number of areas, including electricity projects, infrastructure and energy.
There also was an agreement on the need to increase trade between Egypt and Lebanon and to boost the size and scope of mutual investments.
Al-Sisi and al-Hariri reviewed political developments in Lebanon, as well as the situation in Syria and its regional impact, and discussed efforts to fight terrorism and violent extremism in the region.
