The second day of an EU-Arab League summit will on Monday (February 25th) see bilateral meetings between heads of state and government, followed by a dialogue session on addressing regional challenges, Ahram Online reported.
The closing session of the high-level summit is titled "Boosting European-Arab Partnership and Addressing Regional Challenges Together" and will be followed by a press conference to present the summit’s output.
Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi opened the first EU-Arab League summit on Sunday in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, with representatives from 50 states, including 24 Arab and EU leaders attending.
Al-Sisi discussed Egypt's political and economic ties with the EU during a Sunday meeting with European Council President Donald Tusk, who is co-chairing the two-day gathering with him.
The pair touched on the conflicts in Syria, Yemen and Libya as well as stalled Middle East peace efforts, al-Sisi’s spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
The two leaders also discussed co-operation between Egypt and Europe in fighting terrorism and violent extremism.
