Egypt to start biometric fingerprinting for pilgrims

Egypt will on Monday (July 2nd) start implementing biometric fingerprinting for Egyptians looking to travel to Saudi Arabia for the hajj, Ahram Online reported.

Egypt's tourism ministry said in a Sunday statement that fingerprinting will take place from July 2nd to 8th for those looking to perform the hajj in August.

Those who miss the window for submitting fingerprints can do the procedure with the Tasheel Company, which has signed a protocol with the ministry.
