France will host the International Lebanon Support Group at the Quai d'Orsay on Friday (December 8th) to discuss Lebanon’s current political crisis, Lebanese media reported Monday.
Lebanon's delegation will be led by Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, and French Foreign Minister Jean Yves Le Drian will lead the French side, An Nahar reported.
The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the US, Russia, China, Britain and France, are slated to attend, in addition to Germany, Italy and Egypt, the UN General Secretariat, the EU and the Arab League.
France has urged Lebanese parties to adhere to the "dissociation policy" and distance Lebanon from the battles raging around it, and has called on Hizbullah to lay down its arms and respect Lebanon's sovereignty, in line with UN Security Council Resolutions.
