Egypt's air force foiled an attempt by "criminal elements'' to illegally enter the country via the western border, Ahram Online reported Thursday (September 28th).
Acting on intelligence reports, the air force launched a mission on the Egypt-Libya border, targeting and destroying 10 four-wheel drive vehicles carrying weapons, ammunition and smuggled materials, the armed forces said.
Army forces are currently in pursuit to arrest the criminal elements, the army spokesman said in a statement.
