Lebanese army intelligence on Thursday (September 22nd) arrested the so-called emir of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in Ain al-Hilweh camp, Lebanese media reported.
The Lebanese army had received intelligence that Imad Yassine, who had reportedly received orders from ISIL's foreign operations chief Abu Khaled al-Iraqi, was planning to stage major bombings across Lebanon.
The bombings were to target army posts, residential and commercial complexes and touristic sites, Lebanon's Annahar reported.
Ain al-Hilweh is home to more than 54,000 registered Palestinian refugees who have been joined in recent years by thousands fleeing the fighting in Syria.
