Jordan, Iraq discuss security co-operation

Jordanian Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Tuesday (August 9th) discussed bilateral relations in the fields of security and police co-operation with Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safia Talib al-Suhail, the Jordanian news agency Petra reported.

"Jordan is keen to push for deepening and broadening the relationship and increasing bilateral co-operation, especially in the field of combating terrorism and crime in all their shapes," Hammad said.

"Tackling terrorism is a national and historic responsibility and is a duty that requires more co-operation and co-ordination among global countries to eliminate it and cut off its financing resources," he said.

Jordan is eager to exchange expertise, visits and information with Iraq to serve the common interests of the two countries, he added.
