Saudi Arabia on Thursday (May 23rd) shot down an explosive-laden drone deployed by the Iran-backed Houthis (Ansarallah) to attack an airport in the kingdom, AFP reported.
The drone had been launched from neighbouring Yemen, according to the Arab coalition.
Arab coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Maliki said the drone, which had been targeting Najran airport near the kingdom's southern border, was intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi air force, Saudi state media reported.
