Lebanese army patrol comes under fire on Syria border

Unknown assailants opened heavy gunfire and shelled a Lebanese army infantry patrol in the village of Matraba in al-Qasr area near the border with Syria, the National News Agency reported Thursday (March 14th).

The soldiers were unharmed and no casualties were reported, the news agency said, adding that the assailants managed to flee towards Syrian territory.
