A policeman was shot dead and another was injured in a Wednesday (June 22nd) drive-by shooting in the North Sinai provincial capital of al-Arish, Egypt's Ahram Online reported.
The two policemen were shot outside a police station by an unknown assailant driving in a car, the interior ministry said in a brief statement.
The assailants are still at large.
"Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) affiliate Wilayat Sinai has carried out similar attacks in the area.
