3 wanted Saudis killed in Eastern Province shootout

Three Saudi nationals who had been wanted on terror-related charges were killed in a shootout with security forces in the kingdom’s Eastern Province, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Thursday (September 27th).

Three security officers also suffered minor injuries in an exchange of fire as they raided the hideout in al-Kuwaikeb district of central al-Qatif on Wednesday, after receiving intelligence about their whereabouts, the SPA said.

After besieging the site, the security forces called on the men to surrender, a security spokesman said.

Instead, they started to fire intensively at the security forces, slightly injuring three of them, and forcing the security forces to reciprocate, he added.

The three men killed have been identified as Mohammed Hasan Ahmed al-Zaid, Mufeed Hamza Ali al-Alwan and Khalil Ibrahim Hasan al-Muslim.
