Egypt will launch in early October a large medical screening campaign, presidency spokesman Bassam Radi said Wednesday (September 12th), according to Ahram Online.
The campaign will be carried out to detect and treat hepatitis C patients and other chronic diseases, he said.
Radi added that the campaign will cover 50 million citizens.
The scan is expected to take place from October 2018 till April 2019 in all Egyptian governorates.
Egypt has the highest prevalence of hepatitis C in the world, according to the World Health Organisation.
