Students enrolled at North Sinai’s al-Arish University returned to class on Saturday (June 23rd) after almost five months of suspension due to a major counter-terrorism campaign in the area, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported.
North Sinai has decided to allow the university and a number of other higher education facilities in al-Arish to resume operations, according to a Thursday statement from local officials.
In February, classes at universities and schools in al-Arish were suspended when the Egyptian military launched a major counter-terrorism campaign, dubbed Operation Sinai 2018.
