Jordan’s King Abdullah and Kuwaiti emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah held talks in Kuwait on Tuesday (June 12th), focusing on ties between the two countries and regional developments, the Jordan Times reported.
Later in the day, Abdullah arrived in Bahrain for a meeting with King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and the crown prince of Bahrain.
In Kuwait, Abdullah and the emir discussed their desire to expand co-operation, especially in the economic and trade fields, and increase the volume of Kuwaiti investments in the kingdom’s vital sectors, a Royal Court statement said.
Abdullah expressed Jordan's appreciation for Kuwait’s historic support, saying it has stood by Jordan's side under all circumstances and shown willingness to support Jordan's economy at all times.
The two leaders underlined the importance of maintaining co-ordination and consultation on various regional issues and challenges, the statement said.
The Kuwaiti emir expressed his appreciation for Abdullah’s efforts “to serve Arab causes and strengthen the framework of pan-Arab action and co-operation, in addition to his continuous efforts to achieve security and stability in the region”.
In Manama, both leaders underlined the strong ties between Jordan and Bahrain and their keenness to strengthen co-ordination and consultation on various issues of mutual concern.
