Jordan’s King Abdullah and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al Sabah on Tuesday (June 13th) held talks that focused on co-operation between the two countries and new regional developments, the Jordan Times reported.
During the discussions in Kuwait City, the two stressed the need to further enhance Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations in various fields and emphasised the importance of continuing co-ordination and consultation on regional issues.
This would serve joint interests and pan-Arab solidarity, they said.
The leaders also addressed regional developments and ways to reach political solutions to ongoing crises, according to a Royal Court statement.
Abdullah expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s support for Jordan, noting that it has helped it implement important projects in various economic sectors.
In October, Kuwaiti leaders announced they would increase investments in economic projects in Jordan, which stood at $12 billion in 2016.
Kuwait also has extended help to Jordan to ease the burden of the Syrian refugee crisis.
