Hundreds of Syrian refugees on Wednesday (April 18th) boarded 15 buses in the southern Lebanese town of Shebaa and headed back to their Syrian hometowns, Beit Jinn and Mazraat Beit Jinn, Lebanese media reported.
The group included 500 Syrian refugees of different ages, who have decided to return voluntarily, the National News Agency reported.
The Syrian refugees are leaving Lebanon via al-Masnaa border crossing in the Bekaa Valley, departing from the towns of Shebaa and Hasbaya to "safe zones" in Syria.
The repatriation was directly co-ordinated between the Syrian authorities and refugees, with Lebanon’s General Security Service supervising the transfer.
