Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Mulki met in Cairo on Tuesday (March 13th) to discuss ways to further develop ties in all fields, especially at the trade level, the Jordan Times reported.
The two stressed the importance of implementing bilateral agreements, facilitating the exchange of goods, alleviating procedures for registering Jordanian medicines in Egypt and increasing exports to the Egyptian market.
Mulki also highlighted the significance of increasing co-ordination between Amman and Cairo in the reconstruction of Syria and Iraq.
Due to its location, he said, Jordan can serve as a base for construction and logistics processes, in a way that achieves integration between both countries’ economies.
During the meeting, the two agreed to consider establishing a joint logistics centre to be tasked with contributions to reconstruction processes in Syria and Iraq.
Several senior officials from both countries attended the meeting.
