Arab coalition airstrikes have killed 28 Houthi (Ansarallah) fighters in towns to the south of al-Hodeida on Yemen's west coast, AFP reported Friday (December 15th).
Security sources said airstrikes on Thursday and Friday hit five towns controlled by the Houthis around 70 kilometres south of the Red Sea port.
Medical sources said 28 Houthis were killed and 17 were wounded in the strikes.
Strikes have intensified since the Houthis announced the killing of ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh December 4th, after his alliance with the militia collapsed.
At the same time, Yemeni forces have stepped up their attacks on the Houthis, and last week retook the Red Sea town of Khokha from the Iran-backed militia.
