Egyptian authorities on Tuesday (July 25th) arrested two men in connection with the killing of five policemen in a mid-July attack on a security checkpoint in Giza, Ahram Online reported.
On Wednesday, the interior ministry said police had simultaneously approached suspects at two different Cairo area hideouts, AFP reported.
One group of suspects, in 6th of October, opened fire as police approached. Four of the militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight.
In Faisal neighbourhood, two suspects were taken into custody.
Police seized the motorcycle used in the July 14th attack and the stolen weapons of the deceased policemen, Ahram Online said.
The police are still looking for a third suspect.
On July 14th, unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpoint in Badrasheen, killing two policemen and three conscripts and stealing their weapons.
Investigations indicate the suspects are members of an armed affiliate of Hasm.
