The Lebanese army killed on Tuesday (July 11th) the mastermind behind a bombing attack in Ras Baalbek area on May 22nd, Lebanon's An-Nahar newspaper reported.
Syrian national Yasser el-Ghawi, was killed along with Atef al-Jaroudi after resisting arrest during a raid in the north-eastern border town of Arsal, the army said in a statement.
The army said three other terrorists were arrested, noting that the terror cell was planning attacks. Seven explosive devices, an explosive belt and 50 kilogrammes of explosives in addition to a number of grenades were seized.
At least seven Lebanese army soldiers were wounded last week during raids on Syrian refugee camps in Arsal.
Over 100 suspects with links to the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) group were detained in the raids.
