Jordanian Border Guards and Anti-Narcotics Department personnel have seized "large amounts" of narcotic pills in a rocky area near the kingdom’s northern border, the Jordan Times reported Wednesday (May 24th).
The find came after the Public Security Department received a tip-off that an Arab national intended to bring drugs into the kingdom.
The Border Guards were informed and subsequently searched the area to prevent the smuggling attempt.
They eventually seized a bag of 250,000 pills, which was hidden in the rocky area, according to a Public Security Department statement.
The Anti-Narcotics Department has launched an investigation into the incident.
