Egyptian and Bahraini naval and air forces took part in a joint military exercise, Hamad 2, in Bahrain on Tuesday (March 14th), Egypt's Ahram Online reported.
"The exercise is aimed at consolidating and strengthening the fraternal historic relations and supporting the bilateral military co-operation between both countries," the Egyptian military said in a statement.
Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, welcomed the Egyptian delegations and noted the fraternity and co-operation between the servicemen of both armed forces, the Bahrain News Agency reported.
This was reflected throughout the various stages of the drill, he said, highlighting the importance of such drills in enhancing the combat performance of the armed forces in the two countries.
Egypt also will take part in two separate military drills with Bahrain and the UAE, the Egyptian military said Saturday.
