A suspected member of al-Qaeda died Thursday (March 9th) in an airstrike in the southern province of Abyan, AFP reported.
The strike targeted Qassem Khalil, an al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) militant, near the town of Wadia, a security source said.
Dozens of strikes against AQAP targets in Abyan and the neighbouring provinces of Shabwa and al-Bayda have been launched since March 2nd.
At least 22 suspected AQAP fighters were killed in the first three days of the raids, security officials and tribal sources have said.
