Hariri's cabinet wins parliament confidence

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Wednesday (December 28th) won a parliamentary vote of confidence after 87 lawmakers voted in favour of his government, Lebanon's Naharnet reported.

The 128-member assembly approved the new cabinet 87 to 4, with one abstention. Only 92 members were present during the vote.

On Tuesday, the majority of MPs gave their vote of confidence for the cabinet, including former Prime Minister Tammam Salam, the Change and Reform bloc, Lebanese Forces bloc, Hizbullah's political wing, the Future Movement, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and the Democratic Gathering and Development and Liberation blocs.

Opposing were former Prime Minister Najib Miqati, who did not attend the parliamentary session, MP Khaled al-Daher and the Kataeb party bloc, which said the government’s political vision “contradicts” with the party's vision.
