The Lebanese army shelled "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) positions on the outskirts of the northern Bekaa Valley border towns of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa, Lebanese media reported Wednesday (September 14th).
The army bombarded the ISIL positions with heavy artillery, targeting militant posts in Shmeis al-Mkhayrmeh.
The army has been on high alert since a string of suicide bombings in al-Qaa in late June.
Militants from ISIL and Fatah al-Sham Front are entrenched in rugged areas along the border, and the army regularly shells their posts.
