The Lebanese army killed Thursday (June 2nd) an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) gunman and arrested three others in a raid in Akkar district, Lebanese daily Annahar newspaper reported.
The Lebanese army raided a house in the town of Khirbet Daoud and exchanged fire with militants, which resulted in the death of "one terrorist and the arrest of three others", the military said in a statement.
The army suffered no casualties.
The detainees were identified as brothers Zaher, Samir and Jassem Saadeddine, while their cousin Khaled Saadeddine was shot after exchanging fire with the army.
The army said the four-member ISIL cell is responsible for killing three Lebanese soldiers and injuring an officer of the Interior Ministry's information branch.
