Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri on Tuesday (July 2nd) held separate meetings with French Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly and a delegation of military officials, Lebanese media reported.
Aoun hailed the "brotherly relations between Lebanon and France", the National News Agency reported, and stressed his desire to promote these relations.
He pointed to the military aid France provides to the Lebanese Armed Forces, and its participation in the UNIFIL peacekeeping forces in south Lebanon.
Parly conveyed the greetings of French President Emmanuel Macron and wished Aoun success, noting the co-operation between Lebanon and France in various fields, especially military co-operation between the Lebanese and French armies.
Parly and the delegation later visited al-Hariri, where discussions highlighted co-operation between the two countries, especially in the military field.
Parly then met with Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri.
