Egypt’s Alexandria Port Authority said two major Mediterranean ports will remain closed on Monday (December 17th) due to bad weather conditions, Ahram Online reported.
Boughazi and Dekheila ports were initially shut down on Friday after the Egyptian Meteorological Authority recorded a rise in wave height and an increase in wind speed that might pose problems to maritime navigation.
The meteorological authority forecast rain in Alexandria for Monday.
High waves and heavy winds are expected to cause turbulent conditions in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, the authority said.
