Lebanon's caretaker Interior Minister Nohad al-Machnouk said Monday (December 10th) that Internal Security Forces (ISF) thwarted two major terror plots during May's parliamentary elections, Annahar reported.
Speaking during a televised address, al-Machnouk said the ISF monitored "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) suspects over a 10-month period after recruiting a Syrian informer in Lebanon.
The explosives, smuggled in from the opposition-held northwestern Syrian province of Idlib in buckets of cheese, were meant to target places of worship and military positions, he said.
