Jordan, Egypt postal services forge new agreement

Jordanian and Egyptian postal services have entered into a new agreement concerning e-commerce and money transfer for Egyptian expatriate workers in the kingdom, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported Monday (September 24th).

Jordan Post director-general Khalid Lahham and Egyptian Post Office board of directors chairman Issam al-Saghir signed the protocol in Cairo.

It provides for activating money transfers of Egyptian expats in Jordan to their relatives, so they can collect the cash through more than 4,000 post offices spread across Egypt.

"The agreement eyes enhanced co-operation between the Egyptian Post Office and its Jordanian counterpart, as well as tapping into both countries' potential to provide e-commerce services at competitive prices," al-Saghir said.

Lahham underscored the mutual collaboration between the two postal systems and expressed hope for continued exchange of expertise between them.
