Egypt calls on Interpol to arrest 3 ISIS-affiliated Libyans

Egypt’s prosecutor-general Nabil Sadek on Sunday (June 24th) called on Interpol to arrest three Libyan members of the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) on charges related to the kidnapping of Egyptians in Libya, Ahram Online reported.

According to an official statement, the three, along with an Egyptian national who is in custody, are involved in kidnapping Egyptians working in Libya and demanding ransoms from the families for ISIS.

Sadek’s request followed investigations carried out by High State Prosecution, who questioned Egyptian defendant Mohamed Ragab Hassan over his ties with ISIS-affiliated militias.

Hassan, who worked in Libya, worked with the three Libyans to gather information about Egyptians working in the country and kidnap them through members of ISIS, the statement said.
