Saudi air defences on Monday (May 21st) intercepted a ballistic missile over the southern city of Jizan fired from territory held by the Houthis (Ansarallah) in neighbouring Yemen, AFP reported.
Debris from the missile landed in residential areas of Jizan, but there were no casualties, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
The Iran-backed Houthis have in recent months ramped up missile attacks against Saudi Arabia.
