Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Oman's Sultan Qaboos met for talks in Muscat on Sunday (February 4th) in the first official visit to Oman by an Egyptian president since 2009, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported.
The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral relations, Gulf security and co-operation over counter-terrorism efforts, according to Egyptian presidency spokesman Bassam Rady.
Al-Sisi arrived earlier Sunday for the three-day official visit.
"Talks between the two leaders covered several regional and international issues of mutual concern," the spokesman said.
Al-Sisi heard the sultan's vision on how to solve the Yemeni crisis and to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people. The two also discussed the situation in Syria.
After departing Oman, al-Sisi will head to Abu Dhabi for three days to hold talks with Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on strengthening bilateral relations.
