Jordan and Iraq on Monday (March 20th) agreed to speed up the implementation of the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline once security and stability are restored in Iraq, Jordanian media reported.
The agreement came during the 27th meeting of the Jordanian-Iraqi joint committee, held in Baghdad, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported.
The planned pipeline is to carry Iraqi crude oil via Jordan and provide the kingdom with its oil needs.
During the meeting, the Iraqi officials called on Jordanian companies to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq in the fields of housing, roads, bridges, municipalities, water and sewerage networks and civil planning.
