Jordan arrests 5 in border infiltration attempt

Jordanian Border Guards on Saturday (February 11th) foiled a cross-border infiltration attempt from Syria, arresting five people, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported.

Jordanian troops followed the rules of engagement and arrested five people, one of whom was injured, while two others fled back into Syria, a military official said Sunday.

Border guards seized 318,000 Captagon pills, 637 palm-sized sheets of hashish and an automatic gun that were in the possession of the infiltrators, the official said.
