Jordan's King Abdullah announced Monday (October 24th) that Jordan will host the 28th Arab League Summit after Yemen declined to hold the annual meeting, the Jordan Times reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Nasser Judeh told Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Aboul Gheit that he proposed the issue to King Abdullah, the prime minister and the cabinet, noting that Jordan has agreed to host and chair the summit.
Consultations will be held over the coming period regarding steps needed to agree on the date of the summit and extend invitations, Judeh said.
