Two al-Qaeda suspects travelling in a car in southern Yemen were killed in an airstrike on Wednesday (August 24th), AFP reported.
The attack in Shabwa province struck their vehicle as the pair were headed from provincial capital Ataq to the nearby town of Nisab, a security official said.
Meanwhile, Saudi officials, Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) foreign ministers, UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, US Secretary of State John Kerry and British Minister for Middle East and Africa Tobias Ellwood were set to meet in Jeddah on Wednesday and Thursday to discuss efforts to restore peace and stability in Yemen.
