Jordan's King Abdullah on Sunday (July 31st) bestowed medals of bravery on two rangers who assisted in capturing a man suspected of carrying out the attack on a intelligence office in Baqaa in June, the Jordan Times reported.
Abdullah received Capt. Faisal Adwan and Sgt. Ahmad Adwan and their parents at al-Husseiniya Palace and commended their bravery during the June 6th attack on the General Intelligence Department (GID) office that left five dead.
"Your act of valour embodies the true meaning of conscious citizenship and your efforts are an honourable model that reflects the unity of Jordanians, their alertness and keenness on protecting the kingdom's security," Abdullah said, describing their act as a “source of inspiration for all”.
The terrorist attacks that have targeted Jordan boost its persistence in fighting “dark ideologies”, the king said, adding that all Jordanians stand united as a line of defence for the homeland.
The decorated officers said the recognition would motivate them to “give more and continue serving the country and maintain its security and stability”.
