Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was on Monday (August 13th) set to meet with Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in Cairo, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported.
Egyptian presidency spokesman Bassam Rady made the announcement in a short statement, which did not reveal details of the topics to be discussed.
The meeting is expected to be followed by a press conference.
Egypt has continuously voiced its support for the unity and stability of Yemen, and has stressed the need for a comprehensive political settlement.
Warring parties in Yemen are set to meet under the auspices of the UN in Geneva on September 6th to discuss a framework for peace talks and confidence-building measures in an attempt to end the conflict.
