Yemeni authorities have arrested eight suspected "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) elements implicated in a spate of attacks targeting security personnel in Aden this year, AFP reported.
Police in the port city also seized silenced pistols and letters from ISIL leaders in Iraq and Syria, a police statement said late Monday.
There has been a spate of deadly gun attacks in Aden this year as government forces struggle to restore security in the southern city.
ISIL and its rival al-Qaeda have taken advantage of the conflict between the government and the Houthis (Ansarallah) to bolster their presence across much of the south.
