Egyptian police kill 6 Hasm elements in Nile Delta shootout

Egypt’s Ministry of the Interior on Thursday (April 11th) said police had killed six Hasm elements in Qalioubiya governorate, north of Cairo, during a shootout, Ahram Online reported.

The six were killed in a shootout with security forces as police raided a building on a farm in Qalioubiya, the ministry said.

The raid was carried out based on intelligence received by the National Security Agency that the group had been planning attacks.

Police seized two automatic rifles, a pistol, a birdshot rifle, and different types of bullets and detonative material used to produce improvised explosive devices (IED) they found in the group’s possession, according to the statement.
