Arab coalition kills 8 Hizbullah fighters in Yemen

The Arab coalition on Monday (June 25th) said its forces killed eight members of Lebanon's Hizbullah in northern Yemen, near the Saudi border, AFP reported.

"The coalition killed 41 terrorist elements in Maran and destroyed their vehicles and equipment. Among the dead were eight members of Lebanese Hizbullah," coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Maliki said in a statement.

Maran is the Saada province stronghold of the Iran-backed Houthis (Ansarallah). It was the first official announcement by the Arab coalition of Lebanese Hizbullah fighters being killed in Yemen, although al-Maliki said it was "not the first time”.

Meanwhile, Saudi air defences intercepted two missiles over Riyadh on Sunday that had been fired from Houthi-held territory in Yemen, state media reported.
