Egyptian army kills 3, arrests 74 terror suspects in North Sinai

Egyptian forces have in recent days targeted terror hideouts in North Sinai, killing "three high-risk terrorists" and arresting 74 others suspected of supporting terrorist elements, Egypt's Ahram Online reported Thursday (November 16th).

"The raids came as part of wider armed forces efforts to pursue terrorists and criminal elements," Egyptian army spokesman Tamer el-Refaie said in a statement.

Five four-wheel drive vehicles, four improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and two fuel storage facilities were destroyed in the raids.

The armed forces will refer the arrested elements to the appropriate legal authorities, the statement said.
