Egypt’s Air Force has foiled an attempt to penetrate the country’s western border and destroyed 10 four-wheel drive vehicles loaded with weapons, ammunition and contraband materials, Egypt Daily News reported Saturday (November 11th).
According to an Egyptian military statement, the Air Force destroyed the vehicles and "eliminated" those inside.
The operation was a co-ordinated effort carried out by the Air Force, Border Guards and Military Intelligence, the statement said.
Continuous efforts are under way to secure the state’s borders from all directions and to counter terrorist attacks, the statement said.
