ISIL 'emir' among 10 Lebanon army arrests

The Lebanese army at dawn Saturday (April 22nd) arrested a group of 10 terrorists in Wadi al-Hosn on the outskirts of Arsal who had infiltrated into the country from Syria, Lebanon's Naharnet reported.

Among the detainees is "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) "emir" Alaa al-Halabi, also known as al-Mlais, who has reportedly ordered the killing of Lebanese soldiers.

The detainees reportedly include arms dealers and members of a smuggling network who work in support of terrorist groups.

Army Commander Gen. Joseph Aoun on Saturday stressed that terrorists will not find a safe haven in any area in Lebanon.

"The security situation in the country is totally under the army's control. Any attempts to disrupt security and stability will be faced firmly," he said in a statement.
