Gunmen killed a teacher in the North Sinai provincial capital of al-Arish late Wednesday (January 18th), Egypt's Ahram Online reported Friday.
Unidentified militants shot 40-year-old Mohamed Ahmed al-Siyad dead in the street, before fleeing the scene.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
Egyptian forces have been conducting a campaign to oust the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) from northern Sinai.
