Merchant gas tanker fired at off Yemen coast

A merchant gas tanker was on Wednesday (October 26th) approached by a small vessel and fired at with a rocket-propelled grenade off the coast of Yemen, World Maritime News reported.

All crew members aboard the vessel were reported as safe, and the ship continued its voyage.

The damage sustained during the attack is currently unknown.

The vessel in question is reportedly the gas tanker "Galicia Spirit". According to data provided by VesslesValue, the tanker is currently in the Red Sea on its way to Egypt’s port of Ain Sokhna, where it is scheduled to arrive on October 29th.

The 2004-built tanker departed Ras Laffan, Qatar on October 19th.
