The Lebanese army on Wednesday (August 10th) arrested 40 Syrians on various charges in a series of raids on refugee camps near the Bekaa Valley town of Hermel, Lebanese media reported.
Army troops and intelligence units carried out a wide-scale raid that began at 6 a.m. and included refugee camps in the region of Hermel in al-Tall, Hosh al-Sayyed Ali and al-Shawagir.
Syrian nationals were detained for different reasons, which included infiltrating Lebanon and lacking legal identification papers, and were referred to the relevant authorities.
The army also confiscated a large number of unregistered motorcycles.
