Lebanon army arrests terror suspects in Masharii al-Qaa

The Lebanese army's airborne regiment staged raids Friday (August 5th) in the Bekaa Valley border town of Masharii al-Qaa in search of terrorists, Lebanese media reported.

Army troops raided the Syrian refugee camps in the area and searched for potential terrorist infiltrators, arresting several suspects and taking them to a military barracks, where 19 were kept for interrogation.

The army has upped its security precautions after a string of suicide bombers attacked the town of al-Qaa on Lebanon's border with Syria on June 27th, killing five people and wounding dozens more.

Reports had initially suggested the attackers had come from nearby refugee settlements.
